Enjoy a delicious meal and a glass of wine while you watch sea life and boats going by. Sunsets over the water make every dinner a romantic celebration.

If you don't feel like cocking, you could stop in Sooke at the Sooke Village Food Markets and pick up one of their prepared dishes. They are delicious and you just have to heat them up in the oven. You also could get some take out food from one of the restaurants, e.g. the Nut Pop Thai. Then you do have no work do do and still can enjoy the spectacular view from your ocean front dining room.

Restaurants

There are two restaurants in the area. One is open during summer months only, the other one - just one km down the road - normally year round except for dinner on Mondays and Tuesdays.

liquor stores and cold beer and wine stores

In Shirley and Jordan River are no stores, therefore it is a good idea to do all the shopping in Langford or Sooke before you drive to Fossil Bay Resort.

When you turn in Langford from Veteran Memorial Pkwy on Langford Pkwy, you might want to take the next road left to the West Shore Shopping Mall. Here you will find a BC Signature Liquor Store with a good selection and long store hours, as well as a Superstore with a gas station.

The Sooke BC Liquor Store is in the town center. Turn right into the large parking lot just before the Sooke Town Pole (a carved logger on tall pole).

There are also several Beer and Wine Stores - at 17 Mile Pub (before coming to Sooke), at the Sooke Hotel (left just after the Sooke River Bridge) and at Buffy's Pub (about 1km after the Town Pole).
